Inspiration for an Ironman Hopeful

As a resident of Scottsdale, Arizona, I am an avid triathlete with a passion to complete the pinnacle event in the sport, an Ironman Triathlon.  I definitely inherited my passion for physical fitness and outdoor sports from my father who was an avid and competitive white-water kayaker and runner.  Unfortunately, my father drowned in a freak accident in 1977 when he was only 34 years old, but he died doing what he loved.  I was 8 years old at the time.  Click HERE to learn more about my father and the events surrounding his death.

My uncle, Arnout "Sonny" Hyde Jr, has always been like a father to me and my brother Chris.  Always taking us on vacation with his own family, helping us build pinewood derby race cars during our Boy Scout years, teaching us about his passions of flying and photography and always treating us as his own sons.

Now its my turn to show Sonny how much he means to me and how much gratitude I have for him and my Aunt Teresa for the love and support they have always shown my brother and I.

A special thanks to my wife Debbie, my dog Foster and cat Lucky Loo for supporting my time away from them to train for this special event.
